Tantor mentioned in the thread about if the staff were doing a good job that we don't really know each other and I commented that back when this board was
TJB we had a community chat and didn't suffer from that problem. I used to be able to boast that I knew each and every member of the faction but that is no
longer the case, there are Padawans, Knights and even a couple of Masters that I've never spoken to let alone rped with. I knew there are some of you who
don't like the idea of a community chat and of course there are always those that ruin it for everyone else. I always enjoyed meeting the new people who
joined and they were always made to feel welcome and immediately felt included in the community, it was also great to come into chat and see all the regulars.
Some people believe that the chat takes away from rping and OOC activity at the board and TGC but I've never seen that happen and it's usually the
people who don't join chat that say that. I know though that chat isn't for everyone but I don't see why those who could use the chat as a useful
tool shouldn't be able to use it. In my view the chat brought TJB together as a community, it brought personality to the faceless board and allowed
it's members to gel OOC and therefore IC as well.

I think the idea of chat will make everyone get to know each other more. There of course will be some who will have to be dealt with but we shouldn't let
the knowledge that a few spoilers can keep everyone else from having fun.
I'm all for it. |

I think it'd be nice to see the chat up and running. I know it would sure help me out a lot. It's very convenient, and I myself need to interact with
everyone more. I'm not easily available for aim like I would like to be because I hop around too much in rl (one computer has aim, the other is
restricted). Anyway, I think the chat would help out a lot and I think is just a vast improvement toward interaction with each other.

Chat can facilitate rps and you can interact with the people you're posting with on a more intimate level.

I don't think it's any coincidence that the people I chat to the most are the people I RP with the most.

I would love to see chat up- will ceel agree though?

But we already have chat on TGC. I can't see Ceel being too happy about it.
I think though an IC & OOC thread in the temple where you can get to know the Knights and Masters would be a good idea. |

Although a chat seems like the way to go, I know for me personally it won't work. I am waaaay too much of a multitasker and end up forgetting the window
with the chatroom (heck even MSN or AIM chatrooms) until it's about 5 pages past when I last typed and the topic has completely changed. ...hell I'm
way too much of a multitasker character wise >_<
But I definitely like the idea of SOMETHING that lets me get to know people IC and OOC here |

Well to be brutally honest, we've tried it Ceel's way since the merger and look where it's got us, no one knows anyone, no one rps outside their
little groups and activity here and at TGC has dropped. I say we give it a go, have a trial run for a few months and see what happens, if Ceel doesn't like
it he can and likely will complain to me and call me all sorts of lovely names but hey at least I'll have been trying something constructive.
Oh and Avarra, don't worry about forgetting about chat, most people do so don't stay away for that reason, it's just nice to have it open so people can pm you and drag you back in if they need you |

But if a person is in chat here it means they can be in TGC chat...I mean, I'm not sure how it will help...unless we ban all non Jedi from our chat.

Lets just see how it goes then, if it works out it works out, if it doesn't we try something else.

I'm up for trying it. Just test it out and if it doesn't work well at least we tried.

It always seemed to help at TJB, I know that I usually rp'ed more with the people I chatted with then those that I didn't know.

Well, hopefully it will be as useful here...

The way I see it now, TJC's memberbase isn't that huge to begin with... so we already have one small faction that we could be working on improving

Phylis Alince |

Having said that, we do have the second largest faction after the Sith.
