"That role would definitely fit me," she jested with a smile. It amazed her after not even twenty-four hours she had managed to find out where she fit in to the scheme of things. "I've always been good with children, but never really thought about why. Just kind of figured it was the adolescence in me." Her thin shoulders shrugged. "How do you get better at empathy? How does one learn or practice?"

"It would take someone who was an expert in the field to really give you much tutelage in that. I can give you basic training in all of those areas...and at your knighthood we'll set up some extracurriculars with one of the Empath's here at Naboo to give you a stronger set of skills."

"That sounds wonderful. I will take any and all training I can get." Brilliant brown eyes followed the trail that they walked, and she smiled, thinking back to days once spent with her Grandmother. "My Grandmother use to say you can never learn too much. After University I wanted to disagree with her, but I see what she means. Life is ever learning. If there ever comes a point in my existence that I am not learning, then I suppose my time here is done." Her cheeks flushed, slightly embarrassed at her philosophical ramblings.

"Why don't we call it a night...tomorrow morning meet me in the hanger....we have a special assignment to tend to."

Avarra's eyes lifted to look at her Master, a bit of shock written on her face. From there she eyed the late afternoon sky. "I hadn't realized. Incredible how a day can pass you by when fully occupied." She turned to him and bowed deeply. "I thank you for my first day of studies, Master Aden and look forward to seeing what tomorrow brings."

She was tired. The evening after her first day of training with Master Aden had led her to the dining hall, followed by hours of practice in her quarters until the wee hours of the morning. The time had just flown as she made little buildings with small pebbles, twigs, and blades of grass she had gathered. Finally, exhaustion had taken over. She had woken up on the floor, stumbled to the refresher and was now scurrying to meet with her Master at the hangar.

The soft soles of her shoes padded lightly as she approached her Master. "Good morning, Master Aden. I apologize if I am late."

"…excited?."

Avarra paused half way up the ramp. "Or nervous?" She smiled. "A little of both." The young Jedi really wanted to ask where or what they were heading into, but refrained. She'd find out soon enough as it was. Whatever it was, she hoped she would be of use and remember her training up to this point. If nothing else, I have my diplomacy… She offered another smile, then climbed into the vessel, passing down the durasteel halls to plop down in one of the passenger seats.

"Uhh…" Her? Fly? She stared at the board of controls, her eyes growing wider at the thought of her trying. "I…um…" Avarra had flown maybe twice her entire life. Neither of those times had happened in the last five years and someone had been there the entire time. She hadn't actually taken off before, nor landed. Paid airfare was usually her means of travel. That or walking…

She turned around in her seat to look back down the corridor for Master Aden. Her mouth opened to call to him, but nothing came out. Was he leaving her to figure it out? Did he assume she knew what she was doing? What if it's not hard… For a fleeting moment she started to think that it wasn't; that it was as easy as pushing a few buttons. Slowly, the young Jedi rose from her seat and moved in between the pilot and copilot seat. Her hands squeezed either headrest tightly as she saw what lay before her. Above, below, and either side held gages, switches and levers of all different shapes, sizes, and colors. One could get dizzy just thinking about them all. She swallowed hard. Could the Force help me? It was a silly question, she knew that, but secretly she hoped someone would answer her with a 'yes'.

With a shaky breath, the brunette sat down. She knew so little, but from those couple times she was able to recognize a few buttons. "Too bad one doesn't just say 'start'," she half laughed to herself. A finger dangled over a red square. "Oh, I'm going to break something. Master Aiden!" She twisted in her seat to call to him. "The cabin's on FIRE!" It wasn't true, but before she could catch herself, she had already blurted it out.

Avarra quickly hid behind the tall seat, stifling a giggle by pressing her face against its fabric. It was extremely childish to act as she was, but she couldn't help herself. Normally she felt she had to be on her best behavior when around her mentors and teachers, but with Master Aden she like she could be herself...a bit silly at times. Whether that was because this was a different type of teaching ground then the University she was use to or because she felt at ease with her Master, she wasn't sure yet.

She peered out around the seat and grinned at his comment. "I can't fly."

Her hands fidgeted at her waist as she slowly padded down the halls of the Jedi Temple. All was quiet, an unusual occurance with the volume of Jedi students learning there. She almost wished there were groups of children running around so as to drown out the thoughts that kept mulling around in her head. Although she had told herself time and time again that Master Aden would be back safe and sound before she knew it, she couldn't help but worry. She hadn't been given word, which was something she was going to have to get use to. Asking the Council about his wearabouts would only be a waste of time, she knew. They wouldn't provide any information; most missions were kept secret for safety reasons. She understood this, but it didn't help quell the bad feelings.

The summoning from a Master had been unexpected. Most of her feared that something grave had indeed befallen Aden and that she was now reassigned. It was why Avarra did not rush getting to the location. Her slippers silently fell across the marbel tiling, her gaze fixed on the spaces in front. She wasn't late, having given herself ample time.

When she finally arrived at the entrance of the Room of a Thousand Fountains, her chocolate eyes finally lifted and there she stopped. She hadn't been to the room before. Her mouth fell in awe as she took in its entirety. It was magnificent! The sounds, the sights, the colors… For a brief moment all the worries faded and she felt a wave of tranquility wash over her…until her eyes glimpsed the man that stood there waiting for her.

She swollowed hard as she slowly moved before him, offering a simple, yet respectful bow.

When he spoke again, her eyes searched his face for any indication that something had gone awry. There was nothing there. Their meeting was not to inform her of Tantor's whereabouts or any bad news, but rather to offer training in his absence.

Her lips puckered and she looked to her lap a moment. A mentor… she mused. She certainly wanted to continue her training. Finally, after a long pause she turned to him and offered a genuine, beaming smile. Her features immediately brightened, all worry being lifted. "I greatly appreciate the offer and would consider it an honor to learn under you while Master Tantor is away." There was a brief breather as she leaned back in the bench and tipped her head to look at the ceiling. "Thank you, and thank you to the Council for thinking of me."

Her eyes squinted a bit as she thought back to their training sessions. "Basics, mostly―a lot of lifting and feeling objects through the Force. He thought that my strengths were in empathy and wanted me to focus on that, eventually studying under a Master of it." She looked to the Master beside her. "I don't suppose you are one are you?"
